By the time today had rolled around, I had about 10 or so warbands put together which is far more than usual. I ended up playing the strongest of the bunch since I had still to try out a Skullcleave and my Rakshasa didn’t get to see much action when she was teamed up with the Ice Devil last week.

100 point DDM play was so popular we decided to run it again. Surpirsingly no one brought the thrall of blackrazor yet again! Read all about the matches in rar’s report.Â

Well our reigning D&D Minis champ tem has moved out West but is still keeping us updated. Check out his tournament report.
So, for my first DDM games in Vancouver, I had very few options since I only have the bands I had already put together for our fun games before I left. I opted for the following band so that I would at least have a chance to not make a fool of myself. I also didn’t have any maps with me but it turned out not to matter since they’ve got a house rule that only the Gencon maps could be used (the three new ones from the starter) and there were extras around.

Thanks to the release of Night Below, we had a huge turnout tonight, with 10 playing in the sanctioned tournament but almost the same number again milling around, playing casual games and making trades. Hopefully this level of enthusiasm will continue throughout the summer. Here’s what happened:

The Thursday Knights had a moderate showing of 7 players tonight. As Night Below draws near, it gets harder and harder to keep trying new warbands without being able to use the minis that have been spoiled thus far.
After our most recent drop-off, I believe we have now donated about 400+ lbs of food through our “Will Game for Food Project”. Our next major charity event will be the 24 hour D&D marathon. You can check out all the details here: http://www.gelatinousdudes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1436

The last pre-Unhallowed constructed tournament for the Gelatinous Dudes was tonight and despite the frenzy of minis activity all week, we had a decent showing of 6 despite a number of regulars not showing up. We expect our numbers to grow starting next week since there were many new players introduced to the game at the pre-release last weekend. It was a typical tournament for us in that very few of the warbands were “typical”.

The Thursday Knights gathered again tonight for their month-end epic tournament. This was the last epic tournament before Unhallowed is released. Next month, we’ll have a whole new set of toys to build bands with. Anyway – I had been away for a couple days and arrived back home a couple hours before our tournament. I was expecting some minis to be waiting for me that should have arrived by mail but they seem to be delayed. So, I had to make up a band at the last minute and decided to put a couple together that I had contemplated using in the past but never played. After arriving at the tournament I asked BunnyPuncher to choose one of them for me to play. He chose my CE band shown below and although I figured it would be fun to play, I didn’t really expect to win – especially after seeing some of the competition. For our tournament this week, there was a prize being offered up. BunnyPuncher graciously offered a custom painted Blood Ghost Berserker for first place.

Today we had a non-DCI event hosted by Monster Comic Lounge. Basically, it was a sealed event except that you could choose any two boosters you wanted from what the store had in stock (back to Aberations but they were out of Underdark).

Happy New Year! After almost a month away from the game I finally made it back to Halifax to play with the Thursday Knights. Our schedule has changed slightly and we are now sanctioned to run epic games only on the last Thursday of every month rather than every other week. Personally, I like this because I have a load of ideas for 200 point bands that I want to try out. Also – I find that you get to see different maps more often.
