R4: Maul

The barbarian swings his hammer sideways, crushing the skull
up against the wall. The skull shatters as the hammer crushes
the bones into the hard stone wall.

The flame skull is Slain!

The pieces of the skull fall to the ground where the green flame
dwindles and dies, leaving the pieces to grow dim, emitting only
the faintest of green light as the creatures last red eye grows
dark.

The dwarf scrambles up out of the channel, running from the
zombies, headed south east to his brothers unconscious body.

Gundren tends to his brothers immediate wounds,
stabilizing Nundro at 0hp.

R4: Winch

The halfling hacks at the dwarven zombie, backing him into
a corner while slicing off dusty pieces of dried out flesh.

The 3rd Corpse takes 7 points of slashing damage!

The rogue takes a shot at one of the animated corpses,
but the shot is a little high, missing it's mark.

R4: Durog

The strange bard lifts the corpse up off of the ground,
hoisting it over his head with a show of incredible
strength, all the while continuing to belt out the
lines of his rhythmic battle song:

"Torches to the buildings!
 Fields to the flame!

Death to the weaklings fleeing at our name!

Ashz! said the grim orc, looking at the pall
,
But iron - cold iron - is the master of them all.

"

Maul gains Combat Inspiration from the strange bard's tune!

A creature that has a Bardic Inspiration die can roll that die
and add the number rolled to a weapon damage roll it just made.

Alternatively, when an attack roll is made against the creature,
it can use its reaction to roll the Bardic Inspiration die and add
the number rolled to its AC against that attack, after seeing the
roll but before knowing whether it hits or misses.


The doppleganger slams the corpse to the hard ground with a thud.

The fifteenth corpse takes 9 points of bludgeoning damage!

The bard leaves the battered dwarf corpse where it lies,
running off the the south west, maneuvering around the
southern section of the wheelhouse.

note on this map. corpse 6 was slain by the fireball
winch is engaged with corpse 3 instead.

R4: Zombies

Corpse 2 slowly begins limping to the south,
dragging his leg behind him.

Corpse 3 climbs up on the ledge and claws
at Winch's face. The swift halfling leans
back out of the way of the ancient bodies
long black fingernails.

Corpse 4:
As Gundren runs to the south, the fourth
Corpse turns his attention to Winch, joining
The third zombie up on the ledge. The large
orc zombie slams Winch against the cavern
wall.

Winch takes 4 points of bludgeoning damage!


Corpse 5 begins to slowly crawl up onto the
wheelhouse, looking straight at Mehesh, with
his cold dead eyes.

Corpse 7 joins Corpse 5 in climbing the
wheelhouse after Mehesh. He slowly ascends
the wooden wheel.

Corpse 14 begins crawling across the floor
towards Maul in the southeast section of
the room.

Maul slams his hammer down at the zombie crawling
towards him. The hammer misses the 14th zombie.
His swing unbalances him so much that the zombie
may take one melee attack against him as a reaction.

The zombie claws at Maul's leg, but misses.

Winch trips up the giant orc zombie,
slamming him to the ground where
he drops his curved blade onto the
corpses neck. The Zombies head rolls
off of the ledge, and down into the
channel below.

Corpse 3 is Slain!

The rogue ignore the zombies clambering up the wheelhouse,
preferring a distracted target instead. He aims his bow at the
zombie clawing at Winch. The arrow sticks into the massive
orcs skull, but doesn't put him down.

Corpse 4 takes 19 points of damage!

as he continues to belt out chorus after chorus:

"Hammers for the anvil, 
Steel for the blade,

Axes to the darklings plying the grim trade

Thraz! said the dwarf lord, grinning at the brawl,

in the southwestern corner of the room. The bard continues
on, heading down the long tunnel, exiting the room to the west.

Corpse 2 picks up speed, climbing up
the ledge where he tries to bite Winch,
but misses as the halfling ducks under
the attack.

Corpse 4:
The large orc zombie trips over his broken
leg as he tries to grab Winch,

Devastating error. As a free action your opponent may immediately
make one melee attack with advantage against you as a reaction.


Winch takes advantage of the stumbling zombies misstep,
cleaving it's foot clean off before chopping off it's head.

Corpse 4 is Slain!

Corpse 5 claws at Mehesh from atop the wheelhouse,
the thief is just out of reach and the attack misses.

Corpse 7 joins in the attack against Mehesh.
From the wooden wheel the zombie tries
grabbing at the rogue, but doesn't get a
hold of anything.

Corpse 14 bites deep into Maul's leg,
crunching through bone.

Maul takes 7 points of piercing damage!


The barbarian falls to the ground,
woozy from the loss of blood his
vision begins to narrow. He fights
against it, but he slowly loses
awareness. The last sight he sees
is a dwarf with dark sunken eyes
gnawing away at his leg.

Maul is unconscious at 0hp!
